SBI online application form for recruitment of probationary officers 2013

State Bank of India, the nation’s largest Bank, is recruiting 1500 Probationary Officers. They will get opportunities to participate in development oriented banking activities & work in other commercial activities in the financial sectors such as Treasury, Forex, etc. Postings will be at various locations in India. Candidates will also have the opportunity to climb the career ladder and rise to top management positions in SBI.

Eligibility Requirements
1. Age: between 21 and 30 years of age as on 1st January 2013 [age relaxation & reservation as per Govt. rules.

2. Educational Qualifications: You should be a graduatein any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as by the Central Government of India.

  • Compensation includes perquisites such as furnished accommodation or HRA, conveyance allowance, medical benefit, LFC/HTC, loans at concessional rates, etc.
  • Total compensation will vary, depending on the place of posting & is approx. Rs.69,000/- per month at Mumbai.
Selection process for SBI recruitment of probationary officers

1.First Phase will include a written exam of 250 marks. This exam will have 2 sections:
(a) The first section consists of Objective Tests of 200 marks will be of 2 hour duration & will include 4 Sections with 50 marks each. 
These 4 sections are:
(i) Test of English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc)
(ii) Test of General Awareness, Marketing and Computers
(iii) Test of Data Analysis and Interpretation
(iv) Test of Reasoning (High Level)
(v) The second sections consists of a Descriptive Test of 50 marks. This will be of 1 hour duration. It will basically be a test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay).
Important Note: You Descriptive Test paper will be evaluated only if you have scored the requisite qualifying marks in the Objective Tests as stated above in (a).

2. Second Phase will include a Group Discussion of 20 marks and an interview of 30 marks.

Final Selection: You will need to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately.

Training and Appointments
1. Successful candidates will be appointed as Probationary Officers for a period of 2 years. During this time, they will undergo training. Towards the end of this training period, they will be undergo a screening process.
2. Those who achieve the predetermined standards may be confirmed and given placement in Officer Middle Management Grade Scale II.
3. Those who qualify the test but fail to achieve the standards set for placement in Middle Management Grade Scale II, will be confirmed as Officer Junior Management Scale Grade I.
4. Those who fail to qualify in this process will be terminated.

Important Dates
  • Online Registration: 30/01/2013 to 23/02/2013
  • Online Payment of fees: 30/01/2013 to 23/02/2013
  • Offline Payment of fees (through CBS challan): 1/2/2013 to 28/02/2013
  • Date of written exam: 28th April 2013.
Note: If you are already serving in Govt./Quasi Govt. offices, Public Sector undertakings including Nationalised Banks & Financial Institutions, you must submit a 'No Objection Certificate' from your employer at the time of interview. If you fail to do so, your application may not be considered & travelling expenses, if any, otherwise admissible, will not be paid.
