Education
Qualifications required for 2013 MCGM engineers recruitment
1.
Sub-Engineer (Civil):
You
must have a degree in civil engineering or construction engineering of a
recognized University

must have an equivalent qualification

must have passed sections A & B of Associate Membership Examination of
Civil Engineering of Institute of Engineers (India)

must have passed degree in civil engineering subjects recognized for exemption
from Secton A & B of the Associate Membership Examination

must have passed Civil Engineering examination and be a member of an
engineering institution which is recognized by the Institute
of Civil Engineers (India) as
equivalent to their membership.
2.
Sub-Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical)
You
must have a degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Production or Automobile engineering,
degree in Electronics Engineering or Bachelor in Engineering in Electronics
& Power Engineering of a recognized University.

should have a higher professional qualification in civil engineering approved
by MCGM.

After
passing S.S.C. or equivalent exam, you should have a Diploma of minimum 3 years
in Mechanical & Electrical/Automobile/Production Engineering or Diploma in
Electrical Power System/Diploma in Industrial Electronics or Diploma program in
Instrumentation of Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering

Passed
Technician Engineering examination of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India)
OR
Have
an equivalent diploma recognized by the Govt. of Maharashtra State approved by
MGGM.
OR
Possess
higher professional qualification in engineering approved by MCGM.
Note:
There are no vacant posts for Diploma and Degree in Electronics for sub-engineer
and junior engineer posts.
Additional
requirements for all the above posts
1.
You must possess a certificate in C.C.C. or O level or A level or B level or C
level of D.O.E.A.C.C. Society M.S.C.I.T. or G.E.C.T. Certificate of Maharashtra
State and Technical Education Board. For exempting of this certificate you
should have completed the syllabus approved by the Govt. from time to time from
handling of computer. However, if you do not possess this certificate at the
time of the appointment, you have to pass the M.S.C.I.T. exam prescribed by the
Govt. within 2 years from the date of your appointment otherwise you services
will be terminated.
2.
You must pass 100 marks examination in Marathi language (upper or lower level)
in S.S.C. or higher exam.
3.
Please see MCGM website to know the minimum percentage required for the S.S.C.,
H.S.C., Degree/Diploma exam.
4.
Age limit: If you are not already in MCGM service as on 01/01/2013, you should
be:
18
to 33 years for Open category
18
to 38 years for backward and other backward candidates
18
to 45 years for physically handicapped, as per Govt. directives

upper age limits for those already working in MCGM.
Selection
Criteria for 2013 MCGM recruitment of engineers
1. There will be an online exam for eligible candidates.
2. A selected list of candidates will be prepared considering the prescribed reservation from the candidates on the merit list based on the marks obtained in the online exam.
3. The minimum marks required in the online exam to be eligible for the post of engineer and junior engineer : 50%
4. In case there are 2 or more candidates having equal marks in the online exam, further criteria will be applied to decide rank in the merit list:
1. There will be an online exam for eligible candidates.
2. A selected list of candidates will be prepared considering the prescribed reservation from the candidates on the merit list based on the marks obtained in the online exam.
3. The minimum marks required in the online exam to be eligible for the post of engineer and junior engineer : 50%
4. In case there are 2 or more candidates having equal marks in the online exam, further criteria will be applied to decide rank in the merit list:
(i)
Higher
educational qualification acquired by the candidates on the last date of
submission of application.
(ii)
Date
of acquiring higher educational qualification.
(iii)
Marks
obtained by the candidate in degree/diploma.
(iv)
If
rank of candidates is still the same, the one who is senior in age will be
given preference.
Note:
(1)There will be separate exams for
each post, but a candidate can appear for the exam for one post only.
(2)Selection criteria may be relaxed
by the Municipal Commissioner if required number of candidates are not
available as per above criteria.
2013 MCGM
online exam for engineers recruitment
The
online exam will have objective type questions and will be of 1 hour
duration. The sections are as follows:
1.
General Knowledge: 20 questions, 20 marks
2.
Mental ability: 50 questions, 50 marks
3.
Technical Knowledge: 30 questions, 30 marks
How
to apply for 2013 MCGM sub engineers and junior engineers jobs
1.
You can submit your application online only up to 23:59hrs. till last date of
submission of application (20th January 2013). The online
application in prescribed format will be available at the MCGM website from 4th
January 2013 onwards. Your application will be rejected if sent by any other
mode. You do not need to attach any educational certificate or any other
certificates at the time of applying online.
2.
You should provide your correct mobile phone number and email ID carefully. The
email ID should be the same email ID throughout and should be valid till the
completion of the recruitment procedure. Do not use anybody else’s email Id. You should also
ensure giving your full and correct correspondence address, including pin code.
3.
Please read instructions about the uploading of your photograph and about your
signature (this should be in black ink pen).
4.
You must pay the exam fee by Net Banking through a debit card or a credit card.
The fees are:
For
open category candidate: Rs.400/-
For
backward class/other backward class candidate: Rs.200/-
5.
On submission of your online application form, you will get a Registration
Number and Password. You must note these for further use. The registration
number and password will be informed to you through SMS on your mobile number
and email ID as provided by you in your application.
6.In
case you wish to edit the particulars of your application, you may do so by
re-opening the saved data using your Registration number and password. However,
this editing facility will only be available 3 times.
7.
Take a printout of the system generated fee payment challan immediately. No
change/edit will be allowed thereafter. Registration at this stage is
provisional.
8.
Transaction charges for online payment will have to be borne by you. On
successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will
be generated. You must take a printout of this for your own record. Do not send
it by courier or by post but keep the copy for yourself. If you are selected,
you should submit (before appointment of the post) the copy of print out of the
application by affixing a passport size latest photo and attested copies of
certificate mentioned in Serial No.6 of IX general conditions for verifying the
information given in the application.
9.
After paying the fees, you must immediately submit your online application. If
after paying the fee you do not apply, request for refund of the exam fee will
not be accepted under any circumstances.
10.
The admit card for the exam will not be sent to your by post or courier. You
have to use your Registration number and password to download your admit card
and take a print out of it.
11.
You should affix your latest colour photograph to your admit card and submit
the admit card at the time of the exam.
12.
The online exam will be held in Brihanmumbai/Thane District. If required, the
exam centers will be increased.
13.
You will have to attend the venue of the exam at your own cost.
14.
You are not allowed to take your mobile phone or any communication device to
the exam venue.
15.
If you are already in service of MCGM, then you should obtain NOC of your head
of Department before submitting your online application and submit the same to
the recruitment authority before appointment.
Documents
required before appointment
1.
School leaving certificate / Date of Birth certificate / Domicile certificate
2.
S.S.C. or H.S.C. marklist / passing certificate. It is necessary to submit the
Xerox copy of both sides of marksheets.
3.
Marklist and passing certificate of all semester / years of degree/diploma
exam. Xerox copy of both sides of marksheets should be submitted.
4.
Attempt certificate of S.S.C./H.S.C./Degree/Diploma or equivalent exam if
passed in more than one attempt and copies of all marksheets of all attempts.
5.
Backward class candidates should submit cast certificate and caste validity
certificate (if not having this certificate, it should be submitted within 6
months from your date of appointment & your appointment will then be
temporary till verification of validity of the certificate + Application of
validity of caste certificate must bye submitted to the respective Scrutiny
Committee within 1 month from date of appointment & submit acknowledgement
of the same to the appointing authority). S.C./S.T. candidates should submit
non-criminate certificate at the time of appointment.
6.
If you are already in Govt./Semi Govt./Private service, you need to submit
N.O.C. of the employer.
7.
Marriage registration certificate/copy of Gazette for change in name.
8.
Employment Exchange Card.
9.
In case of physically handicapped person, the certificate issued by competent
authority stating minimum disability 40%.
10.
Latest non-creamy-layer certificate in case of sports person of advanced caste
candidates and candidates applying under women reservation other than S.C./S.T.
candidates.
Prior
to appointment: Candidate will not be eligible for recruitment if punished by
any Court in immoral / criminal case. Details of any police inquiry /subjudice
case / punishment must be given. Selected candidates will have to deposit in
cash an amount equivalent to 1 month’s pay as security deposit or submit
Indemnity Bond to that effect. Physically handicapped candidates will be sent
to M.C.G.M. medical board for ascertaining exact percentage of disability &
will be considered for appointment only on issuance of certificate by the
M.C.G.M. Authority that you are physically eligible for performing your duties.
On
appointment: You will be appointed in any office under the jurisdiction of
M.C.G.M. and your services will be transferable to any office of the
Corporation. You will be required to work in shift duties. The appointment will
be on probation of 3 years (excluding casual leave and any other leave /
absence period) and continuation of service after 3 years will depend on your
performance during the probation period. You will be appointed on the said post
only after obtaining Police Character Certificate from concerned police
station, stating that no crime is registered against you or not proved.
